Two Rivers Area Unemployment Down Significantly In September

As released in the Bureau of Labor Statistics report last month, Michigan’s unemployment rate, seasonally adjusted, held steady at 4.1 percent in September. Not seasonally adjusted, the unemployment rate fell from 4.0 percent in August to 3.7 percent in September. 

Locally, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report released on November 2, the Battle Creek metropolitan area unemployment rate (not seasonally adjusted) dropped from from 5.2 percent in August to 4.7 percent in September. And, in Kalamazoo, the unemployment rate dropped from 4.2 percent to 3.8 percent. 

Michigan continues to make great progress towards recovering economic losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
